MOBO: GEJ Hails Wizkid, Snubs Davido

Former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has lauded Naija’s music sensation, Ayo Balogun, commonly known by his stage name “Wizkid” for emerging the “best international act” 2017 at the just concluded ‘Music Of Black Origin’ (MOBO) Awards.

GEJ, as he is fondly called, took to his Facebook account to specifically laud the ‘Star boy’ boss for doing so amid tough competition from multiple Grammy award winners Jay-Z and Drake

This was how he put it: “When Nigeria does well, I cannot help but feel well. My happiness is tied to the happiness of Nigeria and when Nigerians break records and take the name of Nigeria to greater heights it exhilarates me. Thank you Wizkid for raising Nigeria’s flag high for the positive, not the negative. Your emergence as the Best International Act at the #MOBOAwards is a proud moment for Nigeria. And the fact that you emerged over JAY-Z and Drake makes it even more celebratory. WELL DONE. GEJ.”

However, the widely celebrated 'Hero of Nigeria's Democracy', did not extend the accolade to David "Davido" Adeleke, who last night took home the award for the "Best African Act".
