Wife Who Bathed Husband to Death with Acid, Still At large-Police

As the families of Mr. Raymond Ihugba, the middle-aged man who was bathed to death with acid by his wife finally laid his remain to rest, the Imo State command of the Nigeria Police have said the assailant; Mrs. Augustina Ihugba is still at large.

An officer in the command, who spoke to My Backyard Story on the condition of anonymity, said the Police have not yet given up on the search for the mother of four who also set her husband on fire after the carrying out the acid attack.

In his words “The Police is hot on her trail and we can assure you that in no time the suspect will be apprehended and made to face the music.”
My Backyard Story scooped that the squabble between the couple began after the deceased; an indigene of Umuowa, Ubomiri, Owerri allegedly muted to the wife his intention to marry a second wife. 

An argument ensued, snowballing into a fight and the angered wife resorted to bathing the 50-year old victim with the chemical.  


Mr. Ihugba, who lived with his family in the Akwakuma axis of Owerri, the capital of Imo state, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri where he died from complications from the burns.


Mr. Raymond Ihugba, a stonemason from Umowa, Ubomiri area of Owerri, Imo State was laid to rest in his village on November, 18, 2013 amid great sorrow expressed by the people he is survived by.
