…his shoes too hard to fill

By FRANCIS OGBONNA

Surulere crooner, Sidney Onoriode Esiri known commonly as, Dr. Sid has hinted he had and still has struggles being the son of late Nollywood veteran, Justice Esiri.

The Mavin records signee also disclosed that he had lived like that all through his live.

My Backyard Story had asked the star if there were times in his life that he wished he was not the son of the departed ‘Village headmaster’ and his response was:

“I feel like that all the time, because I never got used to the idea of being a child of a celebrity or a veteran actor. I have been in the limelight for so long, first because of my dad’s popularity and now mine. It has kind of become second nature, but you know sometimes you just wish it had been different.

“People, who live around the island and know me, can tell that every time I go out, I try to do regular things because I need to remind myself that despite the fame, I am still a regular human.”

The artiste, who dumped his Dental Surgery training and certificate to pursue his passion to entertain, also admitted that his father’s shoes are too much for him to fill.

His words: “I don’t even try to match up with his achievements because they are too big to fill, I just try to be me and do what Dr. Sid should do as I go.”
