Prolific movie producer,
Shan George has hinted that if it were not for the intervention of certain investors,
who believed in her capability as a producer, her most recent flick, ‘Grey
Shadows’ would not have seen the light of the day.
Citing her mum’s health challenge as the reason for
her being cash strapped, George disclosed in a chat with My Backyard story that
the situation had hampered her ability to churn out movies the way she used to.
Her words: “I have a whole lot of films awaiting
production, but lacked the funds to get them done. Like you know my mum, because
of her health challenge has been bed ridden for a while. Now because of that I had
to take a break to take care of her as her only daughter.
“That not only took my time it also ate up all my
funds leaving me with nothing to produce my films. However, thank God for my
son-Delnoi Otsemobor; another investor Mrs. Doris Ohazuruike and her husband
who rallied around me to make sure this project became a reality.”
‘Grey Shadows’, born out of her personal
encounter with medical personnel while she took care of her hailing mum was
shot to address the failure of people who emphasize religion over service to
human which true religion preaches.
The movie also features other
stars, among which is Kehinde Bankole, who won the revelation of the year award
at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards.
