Ghana Hero, J.J. Rawlings accused of Corruption

Ghana’s feisty lawmaker, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has accused one of the country’s most celebrated political leaders and former president, Jerry John Rawlings as being the one under whom corruption was breeded.
The blunt New Patroitic Party (NPP) MP representing Assin Central, who lambasted Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu for saying the ex-President fought the vice to a standstill, declared “Ghana’s fate today, he is part of it, the atrocities they committed together, what is Amidu talking about? Me I don’t fear anybody; it is only God I fear. I fear nothing, I fear no one. Rawlings, the corruption today is his breed.”

The former President is reputed across the continent of Africa to have fought corruption, while he served his people, first as a military head of state and then an elected President.
He has been very vocal recently about the increasing rate of corruption in the country, often times laying the blame on the feet of the succeeding government of promoting it.
