Horror as police gun man down for stealing turkey

The Police in Zimbabwe have received knocks, after one of its officers shot in Bikita Village a suspected turkey thief last week, Daily News reports.
The victim, who was said to have stolen about 9 of the birds from fellow villagers, died from the gun wound, before those conveying him could get to the hospital.
This comes on the heels of two other killings, which threw the families of the victims in sorrow last Thursday, during a fierce clash between police and commuter omnibus owners.
Nevertheless, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, ZPR has taken full responsibility for the killings and apologised to the families of the deceased.

The death of the suspected turkey thief, Tasvika Gunguzha, was contained in a leaked ZRP internal memo, issued on February 19 and addressed to officer commanding Masvingo Province, Martha Mafolo.
