Jobless Man in jail for Robbing Bishop Of $500

A High court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos Island on Wednesday ordered the confinement of a jobless man, Mr. Soliu Adeniran, for allegedly robbing a Bishop of $500 at gun point.Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, who adjourned the trial of the case till May 7, issued the order following the arraignment of the suspect by the state government for conspiracy and armed robbery.
The accused was said to have committed the crime at about 5:45pm on February 17, 2014 at the Festac Extension area of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area (LGA), alongside other accomplices who are reported to be at large.
The prosecuting Counsels J. A. Koku and S. O. Fashola, disclosing this to pressmen, said the attackers also carted away with the victim, Bishop Ray Bakeh’s phones, wristwatch and other items.

According to the prosecutors, the offences contravened sections 295 and 295(2)(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
Adeniran has however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
