Zim President begs Self-exiled owner of Econet wireless and Kwese Sports to return home

The New President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa has asked one of his country’s richest man, Strive Masiyiwa, who had been on self-exile for 18 years in the UK to return home.
According to Business Week, Masiywa, who owns Econet Wireless and Kwese Sports has obliged the new leader and is expected home in March, after nearly two decades of living abroad.

Commentators have hailed this achievement, dubbing it the greatest breakthrough the new government.

Masiyiwa, like some of his compatriots had left the country of his birth, because a frosty relationship he had with the former dictator, Robert Mugabe, a trend Mnangagwa has vowed to overturn.
