A Dubai man is seeking for divorce because his wife refused him his
conjugal rights, whilst they were both in Europe for their honeymoon, reports
Gulf News.
The honeymooners cut short their trip, seven days into it and
returned back to Dubai. As soon as their plane touched ground at the Dubai International Airport, the bride went
back to her folks, while the husband headed straight to the Dubai Sharia court
to file a suit.
Trouble started in paradise, when the bride refused to have
sex with him because her didn’t give her as much money as she would want to do
some shopping as soon as they got to Europe.
The man in his defense has said that she is too lavish and so
won’t get as much as she needed.
“The couple did not
sleep together during what was a planned and hoped-for honeymoon," a
source close to the case told Gulf News.
"The wife didn’t allow her husband to have consensual
sex with her," the source said. "She even accused him of being
tight-fisted and stingy in terms of spending money on her. Meanwhile, the
husband accuses his wife of being lavish and one who spends money extravagantly
and unnecessarily.”
The report says the Dubai Courts has since referred the case
to a marriage counselor of the Family Guidance and Reconciliation Section.
The section officials summoned the couple for several counseling
sessions, but when every litigant refused to have the disagreement
resolved amicably, the case was referred to the Sharia Court, the source said.
"The husband is expected to present his submissions to
the Sharia judge and the wife as well. A hearing will be held soon,” the source
added.
