Robbers Murder Taxify driver, dispose his car for N350k

The Police in Lagos have arrested two ex-convicts for allegedly killing a Taxify driving and selling off his vehicle they had been ferried with for N350,000.
The suspects, who were said to have met at the prison in Kiriri, while they spent time for initial crimes were rounded up on last Wednesday.
The men Simon Tyozemda, 27, from Benue State and Lucky Friday, 24, from Delta State reportedly used two knives to achieve their purpose.
The men ran out of luck, when on a different occasion Simon ordered for a Uber cab by 11:00 p.m using his girlfriend’s phone.
After killing the new driver and disposing of his body, they were stopped by Officers attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) who were carrying out routine stopped and search along Lekki – Epe Expressway, Lagos.
During interrogations by the police the suspect revealed this was not their first operation. They said sometime in February, 2018, they had committed the same offence.
The due stole a Taxify car, along Badore Road, Ajah at about 2:00 a.m, killed the owner, one Godfrey Ovie and sold it to one Mohammed Usman for N350,000.
RRS Decoy Team upon the conclusion of the investigation arrested Usman who had only paid N100,000 and was to move the vehicle to Jigawa.
Simon, a former security guard before told the press: “I met my colleague, Lucky Friday in Kirikiri Prison. Our first operation was where we killed Ovie. I stabbed him in the stomach twice and I dropped him off the vehicle on the road in Badore, Ajah at after 2:00 a.m.
“We threw away the knives and bought new ones for the fresh operation we were arrested for. Before killing him, I placed the order to Taxify cab to pick us up at Lamgbasa, at past 11:00 p.m.”
