Manhunt begins for Security Guard who took off with N490m

The Police in Dubai, UAE are hot on the heels of a security guard who made away with a whopping Dh5 million (about N490,050,000) from a money transport vehicle, while his colleagues were trying to refill the bank’s ATM in a shopping mall.
According to Gulf News, a Police official said the incident happened at 10:30pm on Saturday in Deira area.
“The suspect and his workmate were near the ATM in the mall when the suspect distracted the second guard. The suspect told the second guard that he is going to the bathroom and took the bag containing the money and escaped,” the official said.
The second security guard, after waiting in vain for his colleague to reappear decided to inform his company who got the Police involved. Dubai Police questioned the security guard who denied having any knowledge that the suspect was planning to steal the cash.
“The suspect, in his 20s, recently joined the company. We alerted all the ports and are still trying to arrest him,” the official said.
However, police said the money transfer company was following the necessary safety procedures and the robbery was an individual act.
