Victims of herdsmen killing buried in a mass grave in Plateau

Photos of victims of herdsmen killings being buried in a mass grave reportedly in a village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state surfaced online on Tuesday.
At the moment, leaders of the community and representatives of the State Command of the Police disagree with the total figure of casualty.
While, the Command's spokesman, Mr Terna Tyopev had  said the number of deaths recorded during the attack has risen to 16, residents insist at least  25 people have been killed.
The villagers also pointed accusing fingers at herdsmen grazing their cattle aroundAccording to the community leaders the affected villages were Nghakudung, Shilim, Morok, Mandung, Faram, Filla and Hotom
Mr Tyopev, who disclosed that the multiple attacks took place between Wednesday, March 7 and Friday, March 9, added that the Command had deployed more personnel to restore peace to the troubled areas, and advised the people to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their hands.
‘From reports we got from the villages, it is confirmed that 16 people were killed in the attacks on the villages and as I speak with you now, the Police Command has deployed more personnel to the troubled communities.
I will also like top use this medium to admonish the people within the areas to remain calm as peace will surely be restored and the police will ensure that the perpetrators of the evil are brought to book.
