Woman Burnt To Death For Refusing to be Raped

A 35-year-old Indian woman on Friday died from pains after her assailant set her on fire for resisting his sex advances, Times of India reports.
The victim, Reena Koli who had sustained a high degree of burns, succumbed to the pains from the injuries despite the medical attention she received from the hospital she had been rushed to afterwards.
Following preliminary investigations, a suspect, 31-year-old Rambharan Yadav, who is a labourer from Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested.
He was picked up by the Police at Kawai railway station on Sunday, while attempting to leave the community.
The late Koli and Yadav, police say were co-tenants.
Yadav allegedly called Reena - who is married - to his room on Friday morning and tried to rape her.
Police said that after she turned down his sexual advances, he became angry and then allegedly poured kerosene all over Reena and set her on fire before fleeing the scene.
She was rushed to a local community health centre and was then referred to Maharao Bhim Singh hospital in Kota.
