6-Year-Old Beaten to death by Mum’s Boyfriend

A 6-year-old Malaysian boy met an untimely death after his mother’s boyfriend allegedly beat him to a pulp, leaving him with a couple of broken ribs and torn colon, eventually leading to his demise.
The boy, identified as Mohamad Rayyan from Kangar was rushed to the hospital following the abuse after vomiting and then passing out.
NST Online reports that Rayyan, after several hours of fighting succumbed to his injuries and passed at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) in Kangar at about 4am on Wednesday, 18 April.
In its report, that was published yesterday, 20 April, NST Online quoted Perlis police chief Datuk Azisman Alias saying that a pathology report, which helped uncover the horrific abuse, revealed that the boy had been beaten using a blunt object.
"The victim suffered severe internal injuries besides his broken ribs and torn colon,"Azisman told the English daily when met at his office on Friday.
After his death was announced the police arrested the victim’s mother and the suspect, who turned themselves in at the Kangar police station on Thursday.
According to police chief Azisman, police have obtained a week-long remand order against the 31-year-old mother and her 26-year-old boyfriend, beginning Friday.
"Based on checks, the man has a criminal record of 12 offences, most of them involving motorcycle theft," Azisman said, adding that the case is classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
