62-Year-Old Househelp Brutalised by her Employers, Lost her hearing in the process


An Indonesian grandma is at the moment receiving medical attention after her employers beat her up with a wood, leaving her with several bruises and injuries.
According to NST online, the 62-year-old woman as a result of the constant abuse has also lost her hearing, and at a point was beating to a pulp that she couldn’t walk.
The online media also reports that to escape the abuse, the elderly lady, Siti Hajar Mohd Yatim had to climb over the home's two-metre high wall to seek for help from the public.
Ms Siti alleges that her maltreatment begin from the very first day she started working for her employer, who she is over 15 years older than.
According to Siti, she has severally been cursed and spat on at the slightest provocation.
Her word:
"The employer will go berserk if his son complained that I did wrong or accused me of stealing money. Without checking, I would be beaten without mercy.
"In addition, my employer kept my mobile phone, identity card and bank cards to prevent me from leaving or contacting my family," NST Online quoted Siti as saying.
"When I first met my employer, he did not give me the impression that he is short-tempered. But on the first day of work, he punched me in my face just because he was unhappy over some things. He also accused me of stealing food." 
Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif, while confirming the case, said that further investigations on the incident were underway.
"The evidence from the victim has not been taken since the victim is absent (to the police station). Siti is currently under the care of a charity organisation.
"To date, no arrest has been made, but efforts to track the men are actively involved in assisting the investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt using the deliberate use of weapons," Suhaimi was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.
