JUST IN: Police shoot driver dead over N50 bribe – Witness


A driver in Taraba State has been shot dead, allegedly by a police officer, a witness said.
The witness, who does not want his name mentioned, identified the victim as Mohammed Dajji.
Mr Dajji was reportedly shot for refusing to pay N50 bribe demanded by the police officer at a check point in Maisamari village in Nguroje.
The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, PREMIUM TIMES learnt.
After the murder, residents of the area gathered at apprehended the Killer mobile police officer. He was mobbed by the Nguroje residents, the same community where the deceased is reportedly from.
When contacted, the Taraba police spokesperson said he just received a call from the area and does not have details of the incident yet.
