The area where the incident took place is notorious for attacks by enormous crocodiles.
Independent UK claims that the Philippines' booming development and population have forced humans and crocodiles to share the same spaces, leading to repeated attacks.
Palawan Council for Sustainable Development spokesperson Jovic Fabello told Saksi, "Since 2015, we've never had a year with zero (crocodile) attacks."
